Eosinophilic disorders affect both adults and children in the United States and around the world. Knowledge of these disorders is not widespread, often leading to delayed diagnosis since eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders often share symptoms with other gastrointestinal diseases.
Diagnosis of an eosinophilic disorder is based upon the finding of increased levels of eosinophils, a type of immune cell, in specific tissues. REGID is dedicated to increasing the understanding of these disorders. Further information is provided here and in FIND Useful Resources.

This photograph was taken through a microscope and is a
biopsy from the esophagus of a patient with eosinophilic
esophagitis. The tissue was stained with fluorescent molecules
[nucleus (blue), cell (green)].
